About Me

I worked as Wales National Assistant Coach and National Junior Coach for over 4 years during which time I coached, undertook track, road and off road coaching sessions, motor paced on the track (derny sessions), acted as Directeur Sportif when team managing in various races both at home and abroad for our Junior and National Squad. I have had the privilege of not only meeting Olympic champions, Tour de France winners and riders, world tour riders, Commonwealth Games riders and medalists, National and Welsh champions but working with them to help them reach their goals, I’m proud to be able to say they are also friends. I played a vital role in the training and preparation of the most successful Wales Commonwealth Team we have had in 2018 supporting them with Velodrome training sessions, including motorpacing, providing timings and feedback and as the active coach during their pre-Commonwealth training camp in Gran Canaria.

Any coach must be able to accommodate riders of all ages and abilities, as a coach working with the Welsh Squad I was working at the highest level using my knowledge from working for many years previously within the cycling community to bring a level of professionalism to my coaching and training sessions. This included motorpacing Mark Cavendish at 78 kph on the velodrome, Olympic champions Elynor Barker and Dani Rowe (nee King) were also able to take advantage of this training. I supported team GB in Europe with British Cycling and Welsh Commonwealth team riders in Italy on the track and road training on some ferocious hills in Gran Canaria.

I also had the satisfaction of seeing the raw talent in the young juniors we took on at 16 transform into a cohesive team who took part in UCI races on the track and road both at home and on the International circuit. As their Team Manager I was incredibly proud of the many successes we had in a very fiercely competitive international category.
